Louis is also the minister and author of The Christian Worker Spiritual Food; a systematic devotional commentary on the Bible .
Louis Chris Austad attended Brethren Christian School; however, spent his senior year at Bellflower high School. Louis received further schooling in Biblical studies attending Calvary Chapel Churches in Southern California and had close relational influence by seasoned pastors.
Louis’ spiritual mentors and influences have been David Hocking, Stan Denning, Mike Martin, Jeff Johnson, Chuck Missler, Chuck Smith, Steve Mays, Mike Macintosh, and Richard and Sabina Wurmbrand.
Currently Louis and family attend Seacoast Grace Church in Cypress California under the ministry of Doyle Surratt.
When at Calvary Chapel Paramount, Louis founded and led Lamplight ministries providing Southern California churches with educational teachings regarding Christian cults. He regularly preached at Los Angeles downtown homeless missions. Louis found street ministries was a great opportunity and took to the streets during the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics.
Louis taught The Essentials of Christianity at Calvary Chapel in Downey California for three years and led an evangelistic Bible Studies in his home and parks in the area.
Louis started a youth ministry and was named the youth pastor at Calvary Chapel of Lakewood. While at Calvary Chapel of Lakewood Louis owned and operated a T-shirt witness ministry named Reaction Prints.
At Calvary Chapel Mid Cities in Paramount California, Louis taught The Essentials of Christianity and helped organize to promote the Hit Home Youth Help line. While at CCMC, Louis preached in Juvenile detention centers, gave evangelical alter calls during concerts, and taught at couple retreats.
At Hope Chapel of Long Beach California Louis met pastoral influence Richard Wurmbrand author of Tortured for Christ. Louis served Richard and Sabena Wurmbrand at their home as a gardener which allowed him opportunity to spend time with the aging pastor. Richard was a great influence on Louis before his passing 2001. It was at Hope Chapel of Long Beach Louis began writing the Christians Worker’s Spiritual Food.
Louis worked professionally as the Special Project Coordinator for ExxonMobil Pipeline. Louis specialized in oil and gas measurement, electronic accounting system creation, emergency response, corporate program implementation, statistical record retention, regulatory audits, and safety training.
Inspired by a co-worker, Lucy Swindoll, (who shared devotional Bible studies with coworkers) Louis answered a call from God in 1998 to write devotional material continuing spiritually feeding of coworker and friends with Spiritual Food after Lucy’s retirement.
